Food Parcels: Nourishing Communities with Dignity
Our food parcel program is designed to address food insecurity while respecting the diverse cultural needs of the communities we serve. We recognise that a one-size-fits-all approach does not work when it comes to food, so we focus on providing culturally specific and nutritionally balanced food hampers tailored to meet the unique dietary preferences and requirements of individuals and families, particularly from BAME backgrounds.
What We Provide
Each food parcel contains a thoughtful selection of essential and culturally relevant items, such as:
- Staples: Mealie meal, basmati rice, bulgur wheat, and dried beans.
- Proteins: Lentils, canned fish, and halal meat products.
- Vegetables and Condiments: Okra, plantains, canned tomatoes, traditional spices, and seasonings.
- Dairy Alternatives: Shelf-stable almond milk and lactose-free products.
- Essentials: Cooking oil, sugar, salt, and tea bags.
Clothing Distribution: Providing Warmth and Comfort
In addition to food, T&B Initiative runs a clothing donation program to help individuals and families in need. We believe that access to proper clothing is essential for preserving dignity and fostering confidence, especially during challenging times.
What We Provide
We accept donations of gently used and new clothing for all age groups and genders, ensuring that everyone we support receives quality items. Our inventory typically includes:
- Seasonal Clothing: Jackets, sweaters, and winter accessories.
- Casual and Formal Wear: Everyday essentials and professional attire for job interviews.
- Children’s Clothes: Items for babies, toddlers, and school-aged children.
- Shoes and Accessories: Comfortable footwear and essentials like belts and bags.
